Faizan Bakhtiar, a student of Aligarh Muslim University, associated with the Pune and Aligarh module of terrorist organization IAS, was arrested by ATS from Aligarh on Wednesday. He had absconded after the module of his associates was exposed in Aligarh and all its members were arrested. Faizan, originally from Kareli, Prayagraj, is a student of Master in Social Work from AMU. ATS had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest.
DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that ATS had received intelligence that some people were carrying out illegal activities with anti-national plans by taking oath to the terrorist organization IS. After which the ATS registered a case on November 3, 2023 and arrested eight suspected terrorists including Abdullah Arsalan, Maaz bin Tariq, Wajihuddin. All of them were associated with Shahnawaz and Rizwan of Pune module of IS.

Saddam of this module had surrendered in the court recently, while his associate Faizan Bakhtiar (24 years), living in room number nine of VM Hall of AMU, was being searched. During interrogation, Faizan told that he had taken the pledge of IS from Prayagraj resident Rizwan Ashraf and along with his associates, he was preparing the Aligarh module of IS and connecting the youth. ATS has recovered mobile, Aadhar card and Rs 6460 in cash from him. The network of this module is spread in many districts of the state. All of them were planning to carry out some major terrorist incident. ATS will request to take him on remand after producing him in the court.
